OLD MILL
DULCIMER
This dulcimer started off as a 2” wide
and 4 ft. long piece of wood that was a
scrap of wood left over after the 1830 mill
in Memphis Michigan was torn down in
2015.
Peggy grew up in that building with 9
siblings as Margaret Grace , she is now
Peggy Guoin , her first husband was of
French descent , she kept her husbands
name because her children are Guoin’s and
at work it would have been too hard to go
from Guoin to Pettinato
at any rate the fleur-de-lis is symbolic of
France
a possum board
this was a 2x12 1\2 inch wide
and is designed to hold the
dulcimer off of the lap so
that the bottom can vibrate
better it sits in 4 small points
