This painting had two pieces of canvass missing.
The angel was missing the lower jaw part of Mary's arm down to elbow accross body to wing then up through lower head taking part of the ear and then back to jaw around the lips.
The hand of Mary and the leg of Jesus below the knee was missing the other foot of Jesus was missing the heel and of course thecloth in between was missing.
this painting is repaired to a point that denies the viewer the ability to locate the repair.
This is a repair only since I used paints from off the shelf at the local art store and have little knowledge of paint chemestry.
In doing this repair I used artificial light in my basement work area. Whwn I took the pictures I was outside in a bright sun and it is plain to see that the sheen is not correct.
After doing this I have repaired (restored) a few other paintings using the natural sunlight outside in the back yaed. this painting is indoors and will probably never be viewed in natural intense sunlight.
