This painting was painted by A. Ziest in Rome, circa 1781.
This painting was in this condition when I first received it. there were many pieces of paint missing.
In the next photo I have primed the missing paint with gesso

In the third photo is the finished result.
I feel as if the origional intent is preserved and Mary lives again.
It needs to be mentioned that this painting is repaired , not restored since the paint that I used is off the shelf pre-made by a manufacturer. The origional paint chemestry is unknown to me
